Conlin Earns Second AstroTurf SAC Volleyball Specialist of the Week Honor

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University freshman Emily Conlin has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

The setter from Glendale, Ariz., bookended the regular season with the honor after also garnering the accolade following the first week of action in September. She becomes the first Trojan to earn a weekly SAC volleyball award twice in a season since former conference Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-American Hailey Pittman captured the honor twice during the 2014 campaign.

Conlin helped lead the Trojans to their sixth straight win and 10th victory in 12 matches, as Anderson swept Catawba and knocked off Queens in four sets over the weekend. She dished out a match-best 45 assists and came up with 10 digs in Friday night's win over Catawba and followed up with her 10th straight double-double (45 assists/15 digs) and 18th of the season in the win over Queens.

She started all seven sets over the weekend, averaging 12.86 assists per set and posting 25 total digs and five service aces. Conlin leads the SAC in assists (1,204), assists per set (10.29), service aces (51) and service aces per set (0.44).

She has moved into sixth place in the school record books for assists in a single season and trails former Trojan standout Leslie Nodine (2001) by 76 assists for the fifth spot.

Conlin and the Trojans open SAC Tournament play Tuesday at Queens. First-serve is slated for 7 p.m. at Curry Arena.
