ANDERSON, S.C. -- Amanda Edwards had 21 kills and 13 digs and Leanna Willis had 17 kills and 14 digs to lead Anderson University to a 29-31, 30-19, 30-24, 30-22 victory over Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas match Wednesday night at the Abney Center. Anderson, 16-16 overall and 11-5 in Conference Carolinas, lost the final four points to drop the first game, but the Lady Trojans rallied to win the next three games. Anderson setter Lindsay Doggett had 62 assists. Adria Mullaney led the Anderson defense with 26 digs. Beth Lawson and Jamie Lancaster also reached double-digit kills for Anderson with 12 and 11, respectively. Lancaster also had five blocks. Edwards, Lawson, and Katherine Carter all had four blocks apiece. Belmont Abbey was led by Emily Frohnapfel with 14 kills and four blocks. Jessica Bennett added 10 kills for the Crusaders. Belmont Abbey setter Allison Smith had 44 assists, four digs, and two aces. Monica Halligan led the Belmont Abbey defense with 25 digs. The loss drops Belmont Abbey to 8-21, 6-11.
