Georgia College Beats Lady Trojans, 3-1

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia - Tami Pissott scored two goals to lift the Georgia College & State University women's soccer team to a 3-1 victory over visiting Anderson College in the first-ever regular season home game played at Bobcat Field. GC&SU improves to 2-1 in its inaugural season, while Anderson drops to 0-2. Pissott, a junior from Snellville, Ga., opened the scoring in the fifth minute to notch her first goal of the season with an assist from Britni Emerson. The lead was short lived however, as Anderson's Nicholle Reshni tied the game in the twelfth minute with an unassisted goal. The score remained knotted at 1-1 until the 31st minute when Sierra Sasser's header off a Jessica McGinnis assist put the Bobcats back on top 2-1 for what would be the game-winning goal. Pissott gave the Bobcats a much-needed insurance goal at the 54th minute in the second half for the final 3-1 margin. Michelle Parr (2-1) earned nine saves in goal for GC&SU, while Anderson's Meghan Woodall tallied 10 saves. The Lady Trojans out-shot the Bobcats 20-17, while the Bobcats held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks. Season Statistics
