Women's Golf Team Finishes In A Tie For Second

HARTSVILLE, S.C. -- Brandi Jackson shot an 81 to lead Anderson College to a 331 in the third round and a second-place finish in the 2005 CVAC Tournament Tuesday morning at the Hartsville Country Club. Anderson finished the 54-hole event with a total of 993 to tie Limestone for second place in the five-team field. Anderson, which trailed Limestone by two shots entering the final round, shot a 331 to beat the Lady Saints by two shots and force the tie. Pfeiffer won its first women's CVAC title with a total of 965. Pfeiffer's Fiona Hindshaw (77-74-80) won the individual title. Limestone's Holly Tompkins (77-79-77) was two shots behind Hindshaw at 233. Anderson placed three players in the top 12. Jackson (85-76-81) was fifth, Carlie Eastman (85-78-85) was 11th, and Darcie Davis (80-84-85) was 12th. With her top-10 finish, Jackson earned all-tournament honors. The Lady Trojans got a big lift from Jennifer Odle and Lindsay Vallo in the final round. Odle shot an 82 and Vallo, who failed to break 90 in the first two rounds, shot an 83.
