Men’s Track and Field Picked 11th in Preseason SAC Poll

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals have been picked as the favorites to win the 2019-20 South Atlantic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today.

The defending champions earned 110 points in the poll, including 10 of 11 first place votes.

Lenoir-Rhyne earned the second spot with 98 points, while Wingate and Carson-Newman placed third in the poll with 89 points each. Wingate had one first place nod.

Catawba came in at No. 5 with 72 points, followed by Tusculum at No. 6 with 65 points, and Coker at No. 7 with 54 points.

Newberry took the No. 8 spot with 39 points, while Lincoln Memorial earned the No. 9 spot with 34 points. Mars Hill followed closely at No. 10 with 33 points and Anderson placed 11th with 32 points.

The 2020 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place on Feb. 29-Mar. 1 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Below is a list of the top athletes to watch from each SAC institution.
