ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson University track and field head coach Randy Greer announced the addition of 11 student-athletes Tuesday afternoon. "This is one of the best recruiting classes, if not the best recruiting class, in the history of our program," Greer said. "There are are four South Carolina state champions, several state qualifiers, and one junior college national qualifier in the class." Greer has added seven student-athletes to the women's team -- Ashley Blome (distance, top 10 at NJCAA indoor meet), Ashley McClellion (distance, S.C. Class AA cross country champion), Thomasena Smith (sprints/jumps, 2007 S.C. Class AA triple jump state champion and runnerup in the 400 meters and long jump), Lynne Flint (middle distance), Chelsea Rogers (distance), Katelyn Rodgers (jumps), and Kayloni Stinson (sprints). The new members of the men's team are Marcus Goodine (jumps, '07 Class AAA high jump champion), Joe Holzinger (800 meters, '06 Class AAA state champion), Aaron LaGarde (field events), and Derrike Black (field events). Both Goodine and Holzinger are natives of nearby Seneca, S.C. "We hope the addition of the sprinters and jumpers will compliment our already successful distance program," Greer said.
