BOONE, N.C. -- Jennifer Hitt and Ashley Smoak both recorded third-place finishes to lead the Anderson College track and field teams at the Mountaineer Winter Indoor Invitational last weekend at Appalachian State. Hitt, a qualifier for the NCAA Division II cross country meet, finished third in the one-mile run with a time of 5:38.03. Smoak finished third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:59.04. In the field events, Kasey Harold finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.37 meters. The top performance for the men's team was by freshman Ethan Schaffner, who finished eighth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:44.62.
