May, Zalud Named to Pecos League All-Star Game

HOUSTON, Texas - As the Pecos League continues to gain national attention, the league has announced the rosters for the 2014 All-Star Game, which will feature two former Anderson University baseball standouts. Infielder Blake May and catcher Jonathan Zalud have been named to the midseason honor as they will represent their respective teams at Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe, New Mexico on June 30.

May, who will be representing the Northern Division, is hitting .345 through the first-half of the grueling schedule, while driving in 34 runs and scoring 30 times for the Trinidad Triggers. At the plate, May has six doubles and two home runs on the season while swiping two bags.

Zalud, who was selected to the Southern Division team, is in his first year with the Bisbee Blue, joining former Trojan Thomas Goodman on the squad. In 29 games this summer, Zalud is hitting .340 with 16 RBI and 20 runs scored. The Sarasota, Fla. native has eight doubles with a home run while catching in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico.
