Bishoff Named Conference Runner of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson University junior standout Whitney Bishoff has been named the South Atlantic Conference women's cross country Runner of the Week for the week ending October 17, 2010, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Bishoff, a junior from Winder, Ga. (Athens Christian), claimed 11th-place overall to pace the Trojans for the fourth time in as many outings, as Anderson finished 13th at the Queens Royals Cross Country Challenge in a field that included Florida State, Georgia Tech, Elon, Davidson, UNC Greensboro and UNC Asheville.

Posting the fourth-best time of any non-Division I competitor at the event, Bishoff finished 11th out of a combined total of total of 290 runners in both the "Gold" and "Navy" races at the Challenge, posting a season-best 18:05.6 and trimming more than three seconds off her time at Clemson nearly four weeks ago.

Anderson will be back in action on Friday when the Trojans travel to Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C.
