SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Converse College beat Anderson College 2-0 in a CVAC women's match Wednesday. The victory, Converse's second straight in the CVAC, improves the All-Stars to 3-8 overall and 2-5 in the CVAC. Anderson falls to 2-6-1, 1-4. Converse opened the scoring in the 25th minute after a through ball from Mallory Begley sent Paige Kohler to the goal. Kohler's deft chip off the keeper's outstretched body rolled inside the far post to give Converse a 1-0 lead at halftime. The All-Stars scored an insurance goal in the 72nd minute with a superbly finished shot from another slicing Begley ball. Sam Chapman notched her fourth goal of the season.
