Men's Tennis Team Places Four On All-CVAC Team

SUMTER, S.C. -- Four members of the Anderson University tennis team were named to the All-CVAC team and AU head coach Rodrigo da Silva was named Coach of the Year Thursday night. Jose Augusto Gaspar, a 5-foot-8, 160-pound freshman from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was named the first team. During the regular season, Gaspar was 14-6 overall and 8-1 in the CVAC. Stephan Fehske, a 6-0, 175-pound sophomore from Hagen, Germany, was named to the second team. Fehske was 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the CVAC. Carlos Sanches (6-0, 175, Sr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) and Renato Assuncao (6-5, 175, Fr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) both received honorable mention honors. Sanches was 16-2 overall and 8-0 in the CVAC, while Assuncao was 15-4 overall and 7-1 in the CVAC. In two seasons at Anderson, da Silva, a former Anderson player, has led the Trojans to two regular-season titles.
