ANDERSON, S.C. - Former Anderson University catcher Brett Scarberry has earned Honorable Mention All-Southeast Region honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon.
Scarberry, a native of Sunrise, Fla., also earned First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference accolades in mid-April following a stellar senior campaign that saw him rank 12th in the conference at the plate, finishing with a career-high .373 batting average.
He led the Trojans with his batting average, while recording a team-high 14 doubles. Scarberry posted a .528 slugging percentage and was second on the squad with 85 total bases, 60 hits and 31 RBI on the season.
The 5-foot-11 catcher was named SAC Player of the Week in mid-February after posting four multi-hit games to help lead the Trojans to three road wins. For his career, Scarberry hit .326 with 26 doubles, four triples, six home runs and drove in 76 runs.
