Hanson and Quartararo Headline Weekend for Women's Track

ATLANTA, GA. – The Anderson University women's track and field team completed their weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

On day one, Whitney Hanson led the Trojans by finishing second in the 3,000m steeple chase in a time of 11:04.06. Olivia Rish completed the 1,500m in a time of 4:44.44, while Joeli Hayden ran the 100m in 13.05 seconds. Emily Golden (18:17.16), Elise Matthews (18:20.48), Mclayne Wyatt (18:50.22), and Lucy Schmitt (19:17.04) ran the 5,000m.

Brianna Quartararo headlined the action on day two by setting a personal record in the 400m with a time of 57.50, with Lacey Boozer close behind with a mark of 58.20. Freshmen Emma Whitaker (2:19.78) and Alysse Rowland (2:37.62) each ran the 800m. The women's 4x400m relay team consisting of Boozer, Quartararo, Autumn Bladen, and Joeli Hayden finished seventh with a combined time of 4:01.89.

The Trojans will now start preparing for the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championships, which they will host at the AU Track Complex May 3 – 4. More information can be found at autrojans.com as the meet approaches.
