Track Teams Compete At Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. -- The Anderson University Men's and women's had a successful weekend at the Coastal Carolina University Invitational. Three Anderson school records were set during the meet. Senior Nick Niesielowski improved his pole vault record to 4.45 meters. In the 10,000 meter run, sophomore Jeremy Hunsaker broke his school record with a time of 33:17.98. Hunsaker took almost 30 seconds off of his previous best on his way to a third-place finish. Freshman Alex Jordan broke the school record in the 1,500 meters. Jordan also competed in the 800 meter dash, running a time of 2:04.23. Also making contributions for the men's team were: -- Senior Justin Smith - 39.71 meters, Hammer Throw -- Senior Jordan Prescott - 55.88, 400-meter dash -- Junior Jason Bryan - doubling in the 1,500 meter run(4:19.27 PR) and the 3,000 meter run (9:29.84 PR) -- Junior Matt Atkinson - doubling in the 3,000-meter run (9:41.27 PR) and the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:27.16) -- Sophomore Chris Lee - 37.73 meters, javelin throw -- Sophomore, Greg Loftis - 18:25.44 (PR), 5,000-meter run -- Freshman Ben Wood - 16:37, 5,000-meter run -- Freshman Sean Kerr - 17:20, 5,000-meter run. Kasey Harold, a senior heptathlete led the women's team competing in four events. Harold's performances included: the 800 meter dash (2:30.59), 100 meter hurdles (19.02), high jump (1.50 meters), and javelin (23.57 meters). In her first collegiate outdoor meet, freshman Gleynnda Craig threw the shot put 8.35 meters.
