McDonald Named CVAC Player Of The Week

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Anderson University's Jessica McDonald (3-2 overall, 3-0 CVAC) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference (CVAC) women's tennis Player of the Week during week number one in the 2007 season. McDonald helped Anderson get off to its best start ever in CVAC play by winning three singles matches and three doubles matches, all on the road. Her toughest match of the week was against Allison Cobb of Barton -- a 7-5, 7-5 decision. McDonald and her doubles partner Tamra Lawler lost just nine games in three doubles matches. Six of those games were during an 8-6 decision over the Barton team of Cobb and Chelsea Hsieh. The Lady Trojans recorded conference wins over Converse, 7-2, Barton, 6-3, and St. Andrews, 9-0.
