Mudd Named Cross Country and Track & Field Assistant Coach

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University cross country and track & field head coach Kevin Eagle has announced the hiring of Andrew Mudd as the assistant coach for the Trojans.

Mudd received his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Saginaw Valley State University in 2018 and his master's degree in Athletic Administration from Southwest Baptist University, where he served as a Graduate Assistant in 2021.

While at SVSU, Andrew was a three time All American in the Heptathlon and Decathlon and the school record holder for the Heptathlon. At SBU, he coached three school records in women's 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles, and indoor men's pole vault, as well as two outdoor all region athletes in women's 100m hurdles and men's pole vault. Andrew's family includes his parents, Randy and Mary, and brother, Alex.

"Andrew is a great addition to our staff as he is someone who has experience in the jump, sprint, hurdle, and throwing events as both an athlete and a coach," said Eagle. "As we look to build up our roster, he will play a pivotal role.

The cross-country season begins on September 4th for the Trojans as they will travel to Salisbury, N.C. for the Fleet Fleet XC Invitational.
