NEW ORLEANS - On the eve of the 2014 campaign, the Anderson University women's cross country team is ranked 10th in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII Regional Preseason Rankings released Tuesday.
The Trojans join top-ranked Wingate and eighth-ranked Queens as
representatives of the South Atlantic Conference in the preseason
poll, with the Peach Belt Conference garnering six of the 10 slots
and King University representing Conference Carolinas at No. 9.
Wingate is the reigning Southeast Region Champion, while Queens
captured back-to-back regional titles in 2010 and 2011.
The Trojans began last season unranked and climbed as high as
seventh before wrapping up the 2013 campaign in the 10th spot.
Anderson opens the season Saturday, when the Trojans are slated to compete at the Royals Twilight Meet in Charlotte, N.C.
