Love Captures USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University track and field standout Haylee Love has earned academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the organization.

The native of Lexington, S.C., is among a group of 471 women who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2016-17 track & field seasons. To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons. Love joined a dozen other women's track and field student-athletes from around the South Atlantic Conference who were named to the prestigious list, representing Carson-Newman, Queens and Wingate.

Love was named the Anderson University Female Athlete of the Year in late April following standout seasons in both cross country and track & field. Love is the first AU student-athlete to make an appearance at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships since 2011 and was one of only two women's competitors from the league to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships.

She recorded 11 top-10 finishes during the combined Indoor/Outdoor seasons, while winning the mile run in the 5000 meters in school-record time at Clemson's Last Chance Invitational and claiming the top spot in the 5000 meters at the Susan Rouse Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan. Love also finished second in the mile run at ETSU's Buccaneer Invitational and claimed Second-Team All-SAC honors in the 1500 meter run.

Love became the first Trojan cross country runner to qualify for the NCAA National Championships since 2011, while earning Second-Team All-Conference honors this season in both cross country and track, along with garnering All-Southeast Region accolades in cross country.

She posted a 3.80 GPA during the spring semester, while carrying an overall 3.69 cumulative GPA.
