Ledon Joins Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University head men's lacrosse coach Albert Mitchell has announced that former Greensboro assistant coach and Young Harris standout, Matt Ledon, has joined the Trojan coaching staff.

"I could not be more excited to welcome Coach Ledon to the Anderson family," said Mitchell. "Matt is not only an expert in our game, but one of the hardest workers there is on the recruiting trail. He is a perfect fit for our program and our university."

Ledon, who was on the sidelines as the Defensive Coordinator with Greensboro last season, helped lead the Pride to seven wins a year ago and mentored four players who were named to the All-Conference Team at the conclusion of the season.

The midfielder was a four-year letterwinner with the Mountain Lions, while serving as a team captain for three years and was voted the team's Most Valuable Player following his sophomore campaign.

Ledon earned Second-Team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors as a senior when he tallied 22 goals and 11 assists, while totaling 28 ground balls and causing seven turnovers. The Duluth, Ga., native played in 63 games during his collegiate career while drawing a starting nod in 27 contests. He wrapped up his career with 56 goals and 26 assists.

Off the field, Ledon was named to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District team.

"I want to thank Coach Mitchell and Bert Epting for putting their belief in me to help lead this program in the right direction," said Ledon. "I am excited to get started and get great young men on campus to take this program to the great heights we know it can go to."

Ledon has also coached for a variety of club programs throughout the Atlanta area, including Georgia Blackhawks, LB3 Thunder, and LaxRats. He was a four-year letter winner at Peachtree Ridge High School.
