Bailey and Jenkins Named Jimmy John’s Female and Male Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball senior Britney Bailey and men's basketball sophomore Myles Jenkins have been named the Jimmy John's Female and Male Athletes of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 8.

Bailey, a senior from Santa Rita, Guam, helped the Trojans to a 63-56 South Atlantic Conference win last week over Coker.
Bailey ripped down nine rebounds on the afternoon to help the Trojans secure their third win in a row. The 6-foot forward was also credited with one block and one steal while chipping in two points. Bailey has now moved into the ninth spot on Anderson's all-time career list for total Rebounds (676), ninth place for defensive rebounds (430), eighth place for offensive rebounds (246) and ninth place for career blocked shots (69).

Jenkins led four Trojans in double figures and notched his fifth double-double of the season in last Saturday's setback at Coker.

The Lexington native had 13 points and nine boards by halftime and finished the afternoon with a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. A 6-foot-4 guard, Jenkins was 9-for-18 from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line. He also swiped a pair of steals.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
