DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- Katie Caughell scored her second game-winning goal in three games to lead North Georgia College & State University to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Anderson University on a blustery Thursday evening. After a 20-minute weather delay, the Lady Saints got on the scoreboard when Caughell booted a ball near goal from around 30 yards out. The ball kept traveling toward goal and it beat Anderson goalkeeper Kelli Whitfield to the far post. The goal gave the Lady Saints a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute. "I thought we played well," said Anderson head coach Abby Crumpton. "Their goal was a loopy shot that just got over Kelli's head. We possessed the ball well in the second half. We just couldn't get one in. We had some good opportunities. We adjusted well defensively and did a great job." North Georgia improves to 6-4-1, while Anderson drops to 4-6. 2006 Anderson Women's Soccer Statistics
