Track and Field Claims Three Wins at Susan Rouse Invitational

CENTRAL, S.C. – The Anderson track and field teams continued their respective outdoor seasons with impressive outings, Friday afternoon at the Susan Rouse Invitational, which is being hosted by Southern Wesleyan.

Junior JoLyn Copeland won the women's hammer throw with a distance of 39.28 meters, while senior Christopher Burton won the men's 100 meter dash after crossing the finish line in a time of 10.81, with senior Caleb Stephenson finishing 19th in a time of 11:59. Burton also finished fourth in the 200 meters in a time of 22.17.

The Trojan men's 4x100 meter relay team won the event in a time of 42.30.

Junior Anthony Aleruchi, who was competing unattached, finished fourth in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 39.19 meters, while freshman Connor Wheatley claimed seventh with a toss of 32.98 meters.

Eric Hoover, who also competed unattached, claimed sixth place in the javelin throw with a distance of 40.76 meters, while freshman Connor Wheatley finished ninth with a distance of 36.37 meters.

Saturday's events are slated to start at 8 a.m. with the decathlon, while the field events and running events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., respectively.
