Women’s Track and Field Ranked Fifth in Southeast Region

NEW ORLEANS - Despite impressive performances at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational two weeks ago, the Anderson University women's indoor track and field team slipped one spot from fourth to fifth in the latest Southeast Region U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, as released earlier in the week.

The Trojans, who were fourth in the regional rankings a week ago, are slated to compete at East Tennessee State's Buccaneer Invitational this weekend.

Fellow South Atlantic Conference members Queens and Wingate are atop this week's rankings, with the Royals holding the No. 1 slot for the second consecutive week. Wingate made the second-largest jump in the poll, moving from fifth to second and vaulting past Anderson and Limestone in the process. Conference Carolinas' member Mount Olive posted the rankings' largest improvement, leaping from eighth to third, with Limestone slipping from third to fourth.

The Trojans hold the fifth spot, with King (Tenn.) and Converse in sixth and seventh, respectively. Clayton State dropped from sixth to eight, just ahead of Barton, while Mars Hill rounded out the top 10.
