LEXINGTON, Ky. –Anderson volleyball standouts Emily Conlin and Hailee Wilhelm were named First-Team All-Southeast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), Wednesday morning.
Conlin has started every match for the Trojans this season, while earning South Atlantic Conference Specialist of the Week honors on five occasions. The native of Glendale, Ariz., is a three-time First-Team All-SAC honoree and the 2019 SAC Player of the Year.
The two-time All-American has posted 19 double-doubles and has dished out double-figure assists in every contest this season. Conlin has reached 40+ assists on 15 occasions, including a season-high 54 twice and earlier this season she took over the top spot in the AU record books with more than 4,900 career assists.
Conlin is the only player in the conference and one of only three players in the southeast region with more than 1,100 assists and 300 digs and leads the conference in assists and assists per set (10.59), while also ranking 30th in the nation in assists per set. Conlin also stands 11th in the SAC with 38 aces, 12th in the SAC in digs and 18th in digs per set (3.47). She also earned a spot on the 2019 SAC All-Tournament Team.
Wilhelm, a middle hitter from Columbus, Ohio, garnered Second-Team All-SAC honors after ranking second on the team and 16th in the league with 240 kills on the season. She is third in the league with her .334 hitting percentage and has knocked down double-figure kills in 11 contests, including seven of the last 11 matches and has averaged nearly 11 kills per set over that time frame. Wilhelm is tied for 14th in the school record books with 115 career block assists.
Wilhelm's play this season earned her second-team All-SAC accolades and has helped the Trojans make its sixth appearance into the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament.
Anderson is scheduled to meet third-seeded Carson-Newman, Thursday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament. First-serve versus the Eagles at Wingate's Cuddy Arena is scheduled for 12 p.m.
