ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's tennis team completed its home regular season scheduled with a 7-2 victory over South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex.

Anderson improves to 15-4 overall and 8-2 in conference action winning it last six of seven while Lenoir-Rhyne drops to 8-11 overall and 2-7 in SAC play.

The Trojans were able to take a 2-1 advantage during the doubles portion with the No. 1 flight Laura Dean and Rebecca Bruning (AU) defeating Iulia Ponomareva and Sara Kalkenova (LR), 8-1. Lenoir-Rhyne was able to even the score winning at the No. 2 position while AU's No. 3 slot Ivey Welborn and Jennifer Holcombe (AU) regained the lead for the Trojans with an, 8-5 win over Aguilar di Camillo and Marta Escanero Funes (LR).

The Black and Gold controlled the singles portion winning five of the six matches to set the final score at 7-2.

Anderson returns to action when it travel to SAC for Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
