Women’s Tennis Dominates North Greenville in Fall Finale; 9-0

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – With a sweep in the doubles round, Anderson University women's tennis used its momentum from a 3-0 start to cruise in the singles round, eventually leading to its third victory of the Fall season, blanking North Greenville, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon the Vance Tennis Complex.

With the victory, the Trojans finish the fall season with a 3-0 record leading to high expectations for the spring.

Redshirt Sophomore Laura Dean and senior Rebecca Bruning teamed up to defeat Camille Duhan and Fernanda Delucca at the No. 1 spot, 8-0. Playing in the No. 2 slot, newcomers Delaney Wiggins and Jacqueline Olivia won over Christina Kiessling and Kylie Sandusky in a hard fought, 8-7 (4), match while sophomore Jennifer Holcombe and freshman Gabrielle Dacaba easily handled Faith Moyars and Hartley Smith, 8-0, at the No. 3 position.

In the singles portion, no Trojan lost a set defeating the Crusaders 6-0 giving the Black and Gold a 9-0 victory to close out the fall season.

Anderson will open its competition season on Saturday Feb. 4 when it hosts Columbus State. First serve from the AU Tennis Complex is scheduled for 2 p.m.
