Five Trojans Earn South Atlantic Conference Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer placed five on the all-conference teams, as senior Abby Helm earned first-team honors while juniors Bethany Morgan and Melanie Maddox, sophomore Kirsten Armetta and freshman Maggie Black were placed on the honorable mention team, announced by the league office on Thursday.

Helm finished the season with 61 saves with a save percentage of .824 (2nd in SAC). The Dayton, Ohio native was in the top-five in all conference keeper categories.

Morgan started 15 matches for the Trojans logging over 1000 minutes. The junior midfielder scored three goals on the season with one being a game-winner. Morgan took 11 shots with 14 coming on goal.

Maddox anchored the midfield starting all 16 matches logging nearly 1400 minutes. The native of Midlothian, Va. took 11 shots with four coming on goal.

Armetta led the team with four goals and six assists with all four goals being game-winners. The sophomore forward started all 16 matches taking 30 shots with 16 coming on goal.

Black scored two goals on the season and was second on the team with three assists. The Pendleton, S.C. native made 12 starts playing in all 16 matches.
