Trojans Offense Explodes in Win Over Mars Hill; 6-0

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer exploded for six goals in route to its second straight South Atlantic Conference win defeating Mars Hill, 6-0, on Saturday evening at Trojan Stadium.

With the win, Anderson moves to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in SAC play while Mars Hills falls to 1-7 overall and 0-3 in conference action.

Freshman Maggie Black struck first in the 18th minute on a high bending shot over the keeper from just beyond the 18. Black's goal was the first of her career.

Capping off the first half scoring was AU sophomore Lexi Williams using a pass from senior Abby Johnson in the 39th minute of action. Williams goal gave the Black and Gold a 2-0 cushion heading into intermission.

Anderson kept the pressure on in the second half scoring four more times. Senior Lexxi Longmore, Black, Gabbie Fleming and Madison Cutts each found the back of the net to push the final score to 6-0.

Anderson's Abby Helm recorded three saves in 67 minutes of action while Madison Page posted one save in the final 23 minutes of the victory.

The Trojans travel to SAC foe Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
