Trojans Win 23rd Straight in Rout over Mars Hill; 89-58

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's basketball team won its 23rd straight contest in a rout over South Atlantic Conference opponent Mars Hill, 89-58, on Wednesday evening at Stanford Arena.

With the victory, the Trojans move to 25-2 overall and 19-0 in SAC play while the Lions drop to 1-23 overall and 0-19 in conference action.

KEY STATS

  • The Trojans outrebounded the Lions, 64-26.
  • Anderson won the opening quarter 31-9.
  • The Black and Gold was credited with five blocked shots and five steals.

 NOTES

 -Junior Alexy Mollenhauer scored a game-high 30 points while pulling down 17 rebounds to record her 19th double-double of the season. The 30 point performance tied her career high with her 17 rebounds falling just two short of a career high.
-Senior Ace Easter netted 12 points while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out four assists.
-Junior Madison Baggett chipped in five points while collecting six rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
-Reserves Alexis Tate and Britney Bailey each scored eight points for the Trojans.
- Mars Hill's Fajhenee Bradford scored a team-high 18 points.  
-The Black and Gold 23 straight game win streak ties AU's all-time win streak accomplished by the 2004-05 team.
