ROCK HILL, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball senior Ace Easter and junior Alexy Mollenhauer was honored by The South Atlantic Conference as the AstroTurf Women's Co-Player of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 21 through Jan. 27, announced by the league office on Monday.
Easter opened the week up with a record setting performance in a rout over SAC opponent Mars Hill. The senior from Maiden, N.C. scored a SAC single game record 47 points on 13-of-15 shooting draining a SAC single game record 13 three-points baskets on 13-of-14 behind the arc. Easter hit nine consecutive 3's which tied the NCAA record for most consecutive made three-point shots.
Easter followed that stellar performance with a 17 point outing hitting four more three-point baskets to give her 17 made on the week. The senior guard shot a combined 11-of-11 from the free throw line while adding a combined seven rebounds and seven assists on the week.
Mollenhauer recorded her 12th and 13th double-double of the season scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds against the Lions followed by a career-high 30 points and 11 rebounds against Queens.
For the week, the native of Lindale, Texas averaged 29.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while becoming Anderson women's basketball's 14th player to reach the 1000 career-point milestone. Mollenhauer currently leads the SAC in points (19.5) and rebounds (11.8).
The Black and Gold travel to SAC opponent Tusculum on Wednesday. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
