Trojans Earn Fourth Straight Win with Doubleheader Sweep over Queens

Anderson, S.C.- Anderson University softball enjoyed its fourth win in a row on senior day winning game one, 3-0, and winning game two, 6-0, over South Atlantic Conference opponent Queens on Saturday afternoon at the AU Softball Complex.

Anderson improves to 27-17 overall and 9-7 in conference action while the Royals fall to 20-12 overall and 8-8 in SAC play.

Seniors Kasey Grant, Bre Hagerty and Joshyn Martin each recorded a hit with Grant and Martin scoring runs on their last regular season home game as a Trojan.

Game One Anderson 3 Queens 0

Anderson scored runs in the first, third and fifth innings while holding the Royals scoreless to set the final score at 3-0.

Sophomore Kayla Pepper (12-11) gave up five hits while striking out eight.

Game Two Anderson 6 Queens 0

The Trojans scored six runs on four hits scoring two runs in the fourth and four runs in the bottom half of the sixth, while limiting Queens to no runs on five hits.

Sophomore Abigail Webb batted 1-for-1 with three RBI while Hagerty went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Morgan Charter batted 1-for-2 with a hit-by-pitch, a run scored and an RBI.

Sophomore Harlie Duncan (15-6) pitched the complete game shut-out giving up five hits while striking out eight.

Anderson travels to South Atlantic Conference opponent Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 pm.
