ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University softball freshman Kayson Boatner was honored by The South Atlantic Conference as the AstroTurf Softball Player of the Week for games played during the week of Feb. 4 through Feb. 11, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Boatner led the Trojans to a 5-1 week including sweeps of North Greenville and Lees-McRae. The Fortson, Ga. native batted .667 with an on-base percentage of .727 and posted a 1.056 slugging percentage. On the week, Boatner blasted two homeruns (in the same game), knocked in six batters, scored five runs and walked four times.
The Black and Gold welcome nonconference opponent Limestone on Thursday AU Softball Complex. First-pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 3 p.m.
