Trojan Track and Field Notches Four Top-25 Finishes on Day One of Camel City Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams combined to capture four top-25 finishes on Friday at the Camel City Invite, which was hosted at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Track and Field Facility.

Olivia Evans finished 17th in the women's 5,000 meters in a time of 18:49.46, with Melea Sangl (19:39.48) finishing 26th. Hannah Beach was just behind in 27th place in a time of 19:44.52. Madison Seay finished 19th in the women's 600 meters in a time of 1:48.61 and crossed the finish line in 48th place in the women's 200 meters in a time of 28.30.

Katharine Landry claimed 35th in the women's 800 meters in a time of 2:37.03, with Natalie Ardis taking home 39th place in a time of 2:46.50. Olivia Rish finished 36th in the women's 3,000 meters in a time of 11:01.77, with Maddie Buddenberg (12:03.81) claiming 53rd place and Sara Pepper (12:24.92) finishing 58th. Emily Olson crossed the finish line in 59th in a time of 12:35.70.

Kamryn Osterbind finished 40th in the mile run in a time of 5:31.23, while Lydia Gambrell claimed 47th in a time of 5:43.15.

On the men's side, Cameron Owens-Hunter claimed 14th place in the men's 800 meters in a time of 2:00.48, with Jordan Anderson finishing 29th in the men's 200 meters in a time of 23.39 and Robert Jones finishing 57th in a time of 24.98. Jones also claimed 23rd in the men's 600 meters in a time of 1:32.50.

Luke Horne finished 42nd in the men's mile run in a time of 4:36.49, with Hayden Tuten claiming 61st in a time of 5:02.08 and David Rolon crossing the finish line in 63rd place in a time of 5:06.19. Philip Quillen finished 31st in the men's 3,000 meters in a time of 9:02.73, while Thomas Sutcliffe was 34th in a time of 9:06.63 and Joey Teachout was 52nd in a time of 9:23.53. Noah McClain finished 54th in a time of 9:25.55 and Brandon Wilson (9:55.0) was 63rd.

The Trojans are scheduled to get back in action, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 12-13, at the South Atlantic Conference Combined Events Championships.
