ROCK HILL, S.C. – The No. 27 ranked Anderson men's tennis team has been slotted to finish No. 3 in the South Atlantic Conference preseason coach's poll while senior's Tomas Depiaggio and Hufelder Duarte and junior Ignacio Bidegain earn preseason honors, released by the league office on Friday.

At the No. 1 singles flight for the Trojans, Bidegain compiled an overall record of 13-6 and a 6-4 conference record a season ago. The native of Buenos Aires stellar play has earned him a No. 23 national ranking.  

Trojan duo Depiaggio and Duarte finished the 2018 regular season with a 5-8 overall record and 4-4 record in SAC play. Depiaggio and Duarte defeated All-SAC honorees from Queens while taking several others to the wire.

One vote separated Queens (106-6), which was picked first, over Wingate (105-5) which was slotted number two. Anderson (83) holds the third position while Lincoln Memorial was voted fourth and Newberry fifth. Lenoir-Rhyne collected 62 points placing the Bears in the seventh slot while Catawba (50) slides in at number eight. Coker, Carson-Newman and Mars Hill round out the poll.

The Trojans open the 2019 season on Friday, Feb. 1 at home against Southern Wesleyan. First serve is slated for 1 pm.
