Trojans Earn Victory Over Mars Hill; 1-0

ANDERSON, S.C –Anderson University men's soccer fought hard to hold on to its early first half goal to defeat South Atlantic Conference opponent Mars Hill, 1-0 on Saturday evening at Trojan Stadium.

With the triumph, the Trojans move to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in SAC action while the Lions drop to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Freshman Esteban Lee perfectly placed a free kick in front of the goal for graduate student Lars Kaula to drill a header into the back of the net. Kaula's goal proved to be the game-winner as the Trojans were able to hold off Mars Hill.

Anderson outshot the Lions 15-10 while Mars Hill held the corner kick advantage, 6-2.

Despite only having three saves opportunites, Anderson's keeper Gal Elyashiv punched out many crosses and potential scoring opportunities to help anchor the defense for the Trojans.

Mars Hill's Brian Salzman had six saves on the evening while suffering his third loss of the season.

Anderson will travel to SAC opponent Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 3:30 p.m.
