Anderson, S.C. - Anderson University men's soccer head coach Michael Zion has released his 2018 schedule.
The Trojans finished 9-8-1 overall during the 2017 campaign with wins over Peach Belt Conference opponents North Georgia and nationally ranked Lander. The Black and Gold finished sixth in the South Atlantic Conference with the season ending after a semifinal loss in the SAC Championships.
The 2018 men's soccer schedule features six non-conference matches and 10 SAC matches with eight of the contests being played at home.
Zion on the 2018 schedule: "I think we are all very excited for the 2018 season. We worked hard to improve during the spring season and the goal was to continue that improvement throughout the summer. We have a lot of experience returning and some exciting additions that will join the team in August. The 2018 schedule is a tough one but it won't be a surprise for the team. This is what we are about. We want to be seen as a top team and the only way to accomplish that is to play the top teams. The schedule features seven of last year's top 10 in the Southeast Region. September will be difficult as we are away six games and home for only three. Getting off to a good start will be very important. A productive pre-season will be a must. October will be a little different as we have a large number of home games and only a few on the road. Hopefully we can set ourselves up to have a strong finish as we continue into post-season play."
