Trojans Rally To Shoot Down Falcons, 4-2

ANDERSON, S.C. - Anderson College rallied from a 1-0 deficit with three goals in a 27-minute span and went on to post a 4-2 victory over Pfeiffer in a CVAC men's match Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field. Anderson completes its season at 9-8 overall and 2-8 in the CVAC. Pfeiffer now stands at 4-12, 4-6. Pfeiffer will participate in this week's CVAC Tournament. The pairings will be announced Sunday. The Falcons scored first at 23:54 on a goal by Davi Lorenzo, who redirected a free kick by Matthew Harris. But from that point, it was all Anderson. After Pfeiffer scored an own goal for Anderson tie the match at 1 at 24:44, Conor Dowler scored off an assist from Dylan Perry at 40:09 to give the Trojans a 2-1 at the half. Six minutes into the second half, Blake Wood, playing his final match for the Trojans, took a pass from Michael Zion and found the back of the Falcon net to increase Anderson's lead to 3-1. After Ben Motley scored for Pfeiffer at 69:30, Zion scored Anderson's final goal off an assist from Josh Pittman and Perry at 72:53. Anderson took 14 shots to 12 for Pfeiffer.
