Trojans Suffered Third Straight Shutout

WILSON, N.C. -- Barton scored two goals in the first 14 minutes and cruised to a 3-0 victory over Anderson College in a CVAC match Saturday afternoon. Aaron Wheeler and Chris Zok had one goal and one assist apiece to lead the Barton offense. The victory improves Barton to 6-7-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the CVAC. Anderson, which has suffered three straight shutouts, falls to 7-8, 4-5. The Trojans have not scored a goal in their last 335 minutes. Beaux Thompson scored Barton's first goal off an assist from Wheeler in the 12th minute. Two minutes later, Wheeler scored off an assist from Zok. The lone goal of the second half was scored by Zok in the 72nd minute. Barton had 23 shots to just four for Anderson. The Trojans played the final 70 minutes one man down after forward Conor Dowler ejected for two yellow cards. Season Statistics
