BELMONT, N.C. -- Patrick Bridges scored an unassisted goal 4:22 into the first overtime to give Anderson College a 1-0 victory over Belmont Abbey in a CVAC match Saturday afternoon. The victory improves Anderson to 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the CVAC. It also marks the first time this season that the Trojans have won back-to-back matches. Belmont Abbey (4-5-2, 4-3) dominated the first half, holding a 6-1 advantage in shots. But the first half ended scoreless. In the second half, Belmont Abbey had eight shots to four for Anderson, but the match remained scoreless. In overtime, the Trojans got two quick shots then Bridges won a loose ball just outside the penalty area and beat Abbey goalkeeper Sean O'Connor for the "golden goal."
