GREENVILLE, S.C. – Paced by junior Jake Miller's three-round, 1-under-par 213, the Anderson University men's golf team finished 13th Tuesday at the Southern Tide Intercollegiate, which was co-hosted by Limestone and Coker.
Monday's first two rounds of the two-day, 54-hole event were played on a 6,763 yard, par-71 Green Valley Country Club layout, while Tuesday's final round was on a 6,952 yard, par-72 layout.
Lincoln Memorial claimed the team title after leading wire-to-wire, with Coker and Carson-Newman sharing second place. Limestone finished fourth, while Queens was fifth. Clayton State and Flagler finished sixth and seventh, respectively, while Southern Wesleyan finished eighth and Erskine claimed ninth place.
North Greenville, King, North Georgia, Anderson, Belmont Abbey and Limestone "B" rounded out the 15-team field.
Carson-Newman's Tom Forster (67-68-67=202) won the individual title by four strokes over Limestone's Filip Sandberg (67-70-69=206), with Lincoln Memorial's Dan Bradbury (70-65-75=210) claiming third place.
Miller finished in a four-way tie for ninth, with sophomore Colt Martin claiming a share of 53rd place. Senior Grayson Bell finished in a tie for 58th, while Hunter Parks notched a share of 68th place.
The Trojans are scheduled to get back on the links, March 25-26, at the Bearcat Golf Classic at the Greenwood Country Club.
