Men’s Golf Finishes 15th at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Junior Jake Miller carded a three-round, 10-over-par 226 to pace the Anderson University men's golf team, as the Trojans finished in 15th place Tuesday at the 54-hole Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, which was hosted by Lincoln Memorial at the at the 7,136 yard, par-72 St. John's Golf & Country Club layout.

The Trojans were 13th following Monday's action, when the teams completed the first round, but round two was halted just after 6 p.m. due to darkness. The teams completed the second round early Tuesday morning and then went immediately into the final round.

Queens won the team title by one shot over the host Railsplitters, while Carson-Newman finished third. Barton, Palm Beach Atlantic and Flagler finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, with Wingate holding the seventh spot.

Coker and Mount Olive shared eighth place, while Hillsdale and North Greenville finished in a tie for 10th. Belmont Abbey, Southern Wesleyan, Albany State, Anderson, Arkansas-Monticello, Tusculum, Mars Hill and Catawba rounded out the 19-team field.

Coker's Wanjoo Lee claimed individual medalist honors after firing a three-round 213 and finished two shots in front of Queens' Jonathan Noble. Flagler's Juan Iturra claimed third place with a 217.

Miller finished in a tie for 17th, while sophomore Cal Brock posted a two-day 20-over 236 and shared 53rd place. Senior Grayson Bell was one shot further back and finished in a deadlock for 60th place. Senior Hunter Parks (240) and sophomore Colt Martin (241) finished in a tie for 74th and 77th, respectively.

Following a three-week layoff, the Trojans are slated to get back on the links, March 4-5, at the Southern Tide Intercollegiate.
