Men’s Golf Tied for 18th Place after Day One of Bearcat Classic

GREENWOOD, S.C. – Led by sophomore Jake Miller's two-round 149, the Anderson men's golf team is tied for 18th place following Monday's two rounds of the Bearcat Classic, which is being hosted by Lander at the 6,800 yard, par-72 Greenwood Country Club.

Young Harris holds a four-shot lead over Lincoln Memorial after two rounds, while Lenoir-Rhyne is two shots further back in third place. Belmont Abbey is fourth, with Columbus State and Georgia Southwestern sharing the fifth spot. The host Bearcats are in seventh place, while Coker and Georgia College are eighth and ninth, respectively.

Wingate and Clayton State are tied for 10th, with Barton alone in 12th place. Erskine and West Georgia share 13th place, while Mount Olive, King, Flagler, Anderson and North Georgia round out the 19-team field.

Belmont Abbey's Levi Kettlehut posted a 6-under-par 138 and leads Lincoln Memorial's Harry Boyle by one stroke in the chase for individual honors.

Miller is tied for 43rd, while Grayson Bell shares 60th place after posting a 152 through two rounds. Freshman Colt Martin is tied for 75th place after carding a 155 on Monday. Sophomore Brady Cox (160) is alone in 93rd place, while freshman Cal Brock is in 99th place following a two-round 165.

The final round is slated to get underway Tuesday morning.
