ROCK HILL, S.C. – As the Trojans prepare for their final regular-season road swing, Anderson right-side hitter Rylie Sargent has been named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Sargent, who has reached double-figure kills six times this season, helped lead the Trojans to two conference home wins last week, including an upset of 20th-ranked Wingate and a sweep of Coker.
The Greer native posted 27 kills (3.38/set) on the strength of a .451 attacking percentage on the week, including a career-best 22 kills (4.4/set) on the strength of a .429 hitting percentage in the Trojans' five-set win over Wingate on Friday. She followed up with five kills behind a .559 hitting percentage in Saturday's sweep of the Cobras.
On the season, Sargent is third on the team with a career-high 170 kills and 37 blocks.
