LEXINGTON, Ky. – The duo of junior Emily Conlin and sophomore Hailee Wilhelm continue to build on their growing list of accomplishments, as the Trojan volleyball standouts were named First-Team All-Southeast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) earlier this week.
Wilhelm, a middle hitter from Columbus, Ohio, garnered the accolade after helping lead the Trojans to their fifth appearance in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament, where they defeated Lander in the quarterfinals before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Wingate. Wilhelm led AU and was fourth in the South Atlantic Conference with a career-high 312 kills and 59 total blocks, while ranking second in the SAC with a .311 hitting percentage.
She stood 19th in the league in block assists and total blocks and reached double-figure kills in 16 matches, including 10 of the final 13 contests. She averaged more than 13 kills per match over the last 10 matches, while reaching a season-high 20 kills in two of those contests.
Wilhelm also captured First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference accolades earlier this month
Conlin is a two-time all-region honoree after capturing the accolade from both the D2CCA and the AVCA a season ago. The Glendale, Ariz., native was named Second-Team All-Region by the D2CCA and earned All-SAC Tournament and All-Southeast Region Tournament recognition earlier this month, while garnering First-Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive year.
She was named Conference Specialist of the Week four times this season, marking the eighth time during her stellar career. Conlin led the league with a career-high 1,319 assists and ranks third all-time in the school record books in total assists. She recorded 23 double-doubles, while reaching 40+ assists on 17 occasions and 50+ assists in six matches this season.
Conlin earned Academic All-America Honors and was named Honorable Mention All-America last season by the D2CCA.
