ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University volleyball team will be hosting an Elite Prospect Camp on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Abney Athletic Center.
The camp is for high school students and/or junior college transfers, with a limit of 35 players. The fee is $35.
The Trojans are currently looking to fill one more spot in the 2018 class with a middle blocker. In the 2019 class, AU is looking at libero, outside and middle positions. For the class of 2020 and on, AU is recruiting all positions and is looking for players that would be interested in joining the AUVB family and would like the opportunity to show Head Coach Todd Hay and Assistant coach Rachel Moran their skill sets during the afternoon camp.
AU has enjoyed a history-making season in 2017, with the Trojans winning the South Atlantic Conference regular-season title with a sparkling 19-1 record (27-4 overall), and reached a power ranking of 26th nationally in NCAA Division II. On the eve of the NCAA Tournament, the Trojans hold hopes of more wins to come after posting a school-record 22-match win streak during the season. AU has seen six Conference Player of the Week honors, three players earn All-Southeast Region honors and four were named All-Conference this season, with Coach Hay being named Conference coach of the Year.
The coaching staff strives to have a first-class collegiate volleyball program on and off the court. Anderson University is a Baptist-based institution and was named by the U.S. News & World Report as the #27 Best Value School among Regional Universities in the South.
