Track and Field Set for Raleigh Relays and Terrier Relays

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University track and field teams will continue their respective outdoor seasons this weekend by competing at the Raleigh Relays and at the Seventh Annual Terrier Relays on Friday and Saturday.

The Raleigh Relays will be hosted by NC State at the Paul Derr Track and Field Facility, with freshman Olivia Evans slated to compete in Friday morning's 5,000 meter run and senior Mason Hazel scheduled to compete in Saturday's 10,000 meter run.

Wofford's Terrier Relays will be located at Spartanburg High School, with the hammer and shot put events taking place on the USC Upstate campus on Friday afternoon. Admission for spectators is free.

Evans is coming off a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meter run at South Carolina's Weems Baskin Invitational a week ago, while Saturday will mark Hazel's first competition at the distance since posting a time of 31:40.5 at the NCAA Southeast Region Cross Country Championships last November. He posted a career-best time of 30:34.13 at last April's Hillsdale GINA Relays.

The Weems Baskin Invitational saw Abigail Bozarth claim eighth place in the women's 5,000 meter run, with Olivia Rish finishing 16th. Hannah Sanford finished 18th, with Lydia Gambrell and Emily Olson finishing 21st and 24th, respectively.

Jasmine Barmore finished 64th in the women's 400 meter dash, while Emilee Edwards Anderson crossed the finish line in 95th place. Barmore also finished 120th in the women's 200 meter dash. Morgan Bridges claimed 15th in the 1,500 meter run and 22nd in the 800 meter run. Martha Coleman finished 43rd in the 1,500 meter run, while Breck Jones claimed 46th. Natalie Ardis claimed 51st place.

Maddie Buddenberg finished sixth in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase, with Madison Seay finishing 30th in the 400 meter hurdles and 63rd in the 100 meter hurdles. JoLyn Copeland finished 25th in the discus throw.

Christopher Burton finished in a tie for 35th in the men's 100 meter dash, while Austin Elgin was 96th. Burton finished 36th in the 200 meter dash, with Jordan Anderson sharing 67th place in a time of 22.46 and Elgin finished 109th. Rashod Monts was 138th. Monts also claimed 88th place in the men's 400 meter dash. Anderson finished 95th. Cameron Owens-Hunter claimed 21st place in the 1,500 meter run, while Riley Dixon was 33rd. Matthew Burgess finished 38th and David Rolon finished 47th.

Ben Clark paced the Trojan men in the 5,000 meter run by finishing fifth, while Philip Quillen and Weston Hutto claimed 11th place and 15th place, respectively. Joey Teachout claimed 19th place, with Robert Jones taking 48th place in the men's 400 meter hurdles.

John Drummond and Riley Dixon were sixth and seventh, respectively in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The 4x100 meter relay team, consisting of Elgin, Anderson, Stephenson and Burton finished 18th and Connor Wheatley finished 10th in the javelin throw.
