NEWBERRY, S.C.– Anderson University women's tennis continued its solid play by opening up South Atlantic Conference action with a decisive 5-2 win over Newberry on Monday afternoon at the Oakland Tennis Center.
With the win, Anderson moves to 9-2 overall and 1-0 in SAC play, while Newberry drops to 10-3 overall and 0-1 in conference action.
The Trojans won the doubles portion claiming the early 1-0 lead.
Newberry tied the match at 1-1 while taking the lead at 2-1 with wins at No. 4 and No. 2, respectively. Anderson then ran the table to earn the 5-2 victory.
Anderson continues its three-match road swing when it plays nonconference opponent Augusta on Wednesday. First serve is set for 2 pm.
