ANDERSON, S.C. – Coming off a successful 2016-17 campaign, the Anderson University men's and women's tennis team head coach Joey Eskridge has released the 2017-18 on Thursday looking to compete for the South Atlantic Conference championship and NCAA play.
Both teams won 18 matches which equaled the men's side greatest season total while 18 victories surpassed the women's previous program best. Coach Eskridge also celebrated amassing 100 wins at the helm for both his men's and women's programs pushing his combined career win total to well over 200 victories.
With a combined 21 home matches between the two squads, both teams are scheduled to open fall play on the road at the Limestone Tournament in early September. The first home match for the women is scheduled for October 14 versus Columbia College while the men's first home event will be on October 27th when they welcome Emmanuel College to the AU Tennis Complex.
Spring play will begin with an away match at Southern Wesleyan on Feb. 2. The Black and Gold jump right into their challenging nonconference slate that features four Peach Belt Conference and region rivals Columbus State (2/4), Augusta (2/10), USC Aiken (2/17) and Young Harris (4/12) while hosting five SAC matches on each side this season, including SAC powerhouse Queens (3/11).
