ROCK HILL, S.C. –Anderson University women's tennis redshirt sophomore Laura Dean has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Mar. 20th- Mar. 26th, announced by the League office on Monday.
The native of Georgetown, S.C., went 3-0 in singles play last week while also posting a 3-0 record in doubles action. Dean's efforts led Anderson to an undefeated week with victories over Coker, Mars Hill and Queens to extend its conference record to 5-1. Dean and doubles partner Rebecca Bruning are (14-1, 6-0) in doubles play while Dean posts an (11-4, 6-0) record in singles action.
Anderson (12-3, 5-1 SAC) has just begun a five-match road swing which includes two nonconference opponents, Erskine and Limestone. The Trojans will return home for their final home match on Sat. April 8th against SAC opponent Lenoir-Rhyne. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
