ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University women's tennis team continued its solid play defeating nonconference opponent Belmont Abbey, 8-1 Friday afternoon at the Reidy Tennis Center.
With the win, Anderson improves to 7-2 overall while winning its past three matches. Belmont Abbey falls to 3-6 overall.
In the doubles action, the Trojans picked up two out of the three matches. Black and Gold tandem Laura Dean and Rebecca won 8-2 while Ivey Welborn and Jennifer Holcombe defeated Subik and Weber, 8-5.
Anderson dominated the singles portion winning all six matches.
Anderson returns to action on Sunday when it travels to South Atlantic Conference opponent Carson-Newman. First serve is slated for 2 p.m.
